06/18/12: International Environmental Conference

On Monday afternoon, June 18, 2012, His All-Holiness attended and addressed the opening session of the Halki Summit on Global Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability co-organized by the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the University of Southern New Hamphshire under the auspices of the Ecumenical Patriarch at the Theological School of Halki. Among those in attendance were Metropolitans John of Pergamon, Gennadios of Sassima, and Apostolos of Derkoi, the Abbot of the Monastery of the Holy Trinity at the Halki Theological School, Metropolitan Elpidophoros of Bursa, the Papal Nuncio, Monsignor Antonio Lucibello, Bishop Richard Chartres of London, the Abbess of the Sacred Patriarchal and Stavropegial Monastery of Chrysopiyi in Chania, Gerontissa Theoxenia, the President of Southern New Hampshire University, Dr. Paul LeBlanc, and the Archdeacon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Fr.
