05/27/10: His All Holiness visits Valamo Monastery
On Thursday, May 27, 2010, His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was welcomed at the Valamo Monastery of the Transfiguration by the monastic community. Pilgrims and students of the Missile-Artillery Military School in St. Petersburg were also present. His All Holiness venerated the relics of Saints Sergius and Herman of Valamo as well as St. Antipa of Valamo in the lower church of the monastery's Cathedral of the Transfiguration.
